The universal sample cutter is available in a specific version for cutting DIN standard tensile test ring R1 or R2. This unit can be used for various kind of materials including rubber, foams, soft plastic, films and composite  materials.

The sample cutter unit is equipped with 2 or 3 cutting stations and centering ring for each cutting station. The typical sequence of operation for cutting consists of two or three individual steps:

1. Optional step: Cutting of a pre-form

2. Inserting the pre-form in the centering ring in the second cutting station, cutting of the outer sample diameter

. 3. Inserting of the cut sample in the third cutting station, cutting of the inner sample diameter. Equipped with 2-hand anti-tie down control and completely pneumatic operation, sample cutting is made easy and safe. The cutting force can be preset on the regulator unit, allowing enough force to ensure precise and repeatable results while maintaining a long lifetime. By eliminating any need for electric or hydraulic supplies, the cutter can easily be hooked up almost anywhere, and can even be used in cleanroom environments because of the fully enclosed design.
